Wow,
I'm blown away. Your eagle has been down loaded as
perfection into everybodys eagle picture library I'm
sure. Excellent job. Thanks for sharing. Mike K
The
wood looks like black walnut. What is it? I am getting
ready to carve a couple of eagles out of black walnut
and I only hope mine come a little close to the
beautiful face you have created on yours. Thanks for
sharing.
I
forgot to mention that any of you who have not thought
about it, you need to go to his web site to see more
pictures of this eagle. http://www.derholzwerker.de/
Jochen
your eagle is fantastic. Like Bob K and the others have
said it inspires one to go and try to do better. God
knows I need all the inspiration I can get. Thanks
If
you look long and hard you can see many historical trade
marks of the chainging industry! I can see chain saw
used in the body, and sanding, chiselling, and other
tooling around the eyes, and in the head detailing, and
tha glass eyes, not the ordinary, but looks like very
well chosen, this carver knows all aspects of wood
carving and treatment, very nice! Pure descriptive
sculpture, impressionism, detailed craftsmanship, this
is sculpture, and carving, I don't write on here much
anymore, but man, this one inspred me!!!!
Is
this a chainsaw carving, I believe so, this shows that
even though you can apply other techniques, and tools,
the look of this carving could not have been achieved
with out the highly skilled use of a chainsaw. It would
have been really hard to block this piece out and detail
the feathers with any thing else.
